Sacrifice in the old testament is not a pre-approved way of gaining God's regard and favor. The principle behind it has always been and remains the same to this day, as it does for all acts of service and ritual in the Christian faith. GOD ALWAYS INSPECT THE HEART OF THE GIVER AND WORSHIPPER before he inspects the GIFT, the SERVICE, or WORSHIPPER.
